What Would You Say You Do Here? (The Life of a Regional President)

The past six months have been a whirlwind of interviews, Q&A sessions, a pastoral transition at the church I planted, announcements, meetings, planning, and decisions—so many decisions! All of it culminated at the 2024 Heartland Annual Meeting. When the results of my ratification were announced, I felt a sense of deep joy and relief. It was work, but it was worth it. I am humbled by the opportunity to be Regional President of Converge Heartland.

Friends, family, and churches frequently ask me, “What is it you say you do?” That is a good question. For the past 20 years, I could say I was a pastor, and most people had some understanding. However, “Regional President of Converge Heartland” doesn’t have the same recognition. While I am still new to the job, here are the main areas of ministry for the Regional President.

Pastor to pastors: The pastorate is a challenging job with many nuances. One of my great joys is to walk alongside Heartland pastors as they navigate ministry and life.

Church consultation: Converge Heartland exists to serve. We help churches with strategic planning, pastoral searches, conflict resolution, the development of culture, and global missions.

Create environments for connection: We create spaces and environments for pastors and church leaders to connect with each other through LEAD Teams, conferences, and workshops.

Promote opportunities for growth: Whether through quality event speakers, workshops, cohorts, residencies, camps, or educational resources, Converge Heartland is committed to getting churches the resources they need to do what God has called them to.

Financial stewardship: Converge Heartland does not exist without the faithful and generous giving of our churches and individuals who invest in the mission. One of my responsibilities is to ensure the finances are in order and directed to the proper place to maximize our mission.

The vision of Converge Heartland is to see a gospel-centered church bring transformation to every Heartland community. As Regional President, my job is to ensure we pull in the same direction and pool Kingdom resources to do Kingdom work.

I am eager to serve you and your church in any way I can. Feel free to reach out to the Heartland office about how we can best serve you!
