Encourage and Equip Ukrainian Pastors and Church Leaders

Despite immense challenges, God is blessing the work of the gospel in Ukraine. In May 2025, Baptist churches of the Odesa region plan to hold a two-day conference for pastors and church leaders. Pastors Mike Johnson and Thomas Slawson from Faith Baptist Fellowship, along with Regional President Steve Krier, plan to participate in this conference. This will be a time to encourage and equip those who labor in local churches and strengthen them for the days ahead. 

Because of the current economic hardships in Ukraine, conference attendees need financial assistance. Our district has faithfully and generously given to our brothers and sisters since the beginning of the war in 2022! We have helped keep homes and gathering places warm in winter and provided gardening tools for planting and harvesting from spring to fall. Now, we have the opportunity to provide spiritual warmth and growth by sponsoring church leaders, enabling them to attend this conference. 

Aleksander Dimov, the Presbyter of the Odesa region, is organizing this event. When he visited us in September, he saw how encouraging and helpful our Cultivate Conference was for the church leaders of the Heartland. He desires to provide such opportunities for the church leaders in his region.
