Running with Endurance

On August 3, 2024, Converge Church in Omaha, NE, hosted Dr. Bryan and Lois Galloway for a weekend celebration of Bryan’s 39 years in full-time pastoral ministry. Hundreds of people from around the nation joined in honoring the Galloways. Though most were physically present, many live and video testimonials from beloved saints represented every area and era of the Galloways’ ministry career. 

On a personal note, I wish that all early and mid-career pastors in our movement could have experienced this event. Because of the unique locations of the Galloways’ ministry service, the event granted a long-range perspective of the impact that consistent, gospel-centered ministry has on the lives of people across rural, urban, and cross-cultural settings. It was a moving, hilarious, inspiring, and tear-prompting evening. On August 4, the celebration continued during a special Sunday service featuring a powerful message from Dr. Galloway entitled, "Let Us Run with Endurance."

From 1983 to 1985, Bryan served as the Youth Pastor for First Baptist Church in Oceanside, CA. From 1985 to 1993, he served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Dannebrog, NE. From 1994 to 2001, Bryan served as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Church of Aiea, Hawaii. From 2002 to 2018, the Galloways returned to Nebraska as Bryan served as the Senior Pastor of Harvey Oaks Baptist Church in Omaha. Then, after many dialogues with nearby Eagle Heights Community Church, Bryan continued serving as the full-time Co-Pastor of the newly consolidated Converge Church (2018-2024). Bryan will now continue to pastor part-time as the Associate Pastor of Senior Adults at Converge Church.
