God is Doing Great Things in our Church Plants
God is at work in our church plants. Below are God stories from our church planting pastors around the Heartland District. Please take a moment to praise God and pray for His blessing on our church plants.
The Fount in Kansas City, MO (Jim Hays)
The Fount is putting together a three-year evangelism and mission plan to reach downtown Kansas City. They also had their first city-wide “Serve Day” since COVID on October 15th. In addition, they are hosting Truth Symposiums to reach into their community.
Two Pillars in Lincoln, NE (Todd Bumgarner and Adam Stahr)
Two Pillars installed a new elder on October 2nd. They are also offering a “First Principles Class” to a dozen men and women, which teaches people how to read and interpret the Bible. Two Pillars is in the middle of raising funds for renovations of their building and a future church planting residency.
Harvest Plains in Casselton, ND (Cody Weckerly)
Harvest Plains is in talks about leasing space for worship in nearby Mapleton. They are currently having information meetings with their members.
The Well in Hastings, NE (Joe Marino)
The Well turned ten years old in August! Currently, the church is around 100 people and is working towards helping people become disciples of Jesus and church members. Also, Joe helped create 1819 ministries. This ministry focuses on evangelism and outreach to the outlaw biker community. It provides addiction resources, mentoring, and public speaking opportunities while also working to raise awareness and funds to fight against human trafficking.
Arrows Church in Papillion, NE (Robert Conn)
Robert says, “God is moving at Arrows Church for sure, but not in the typical visible ways. We’re not having numerous people walk the aisle and receive Jesus for the first time, but we are having numerous people being challenged and taking the next steps in their faith. I’ve often heard people say they haven’t been to a church that challenges them like Arrows. The Holy Spirit is gently (and sometimes not so gently) leading people to step up in their faith for the first time. We have numerous volunteers serving for the first time in their faith journey. In addition, we have volunteers leading and growing ministries such as Kids, Setup/Teardown, and Followup. I feel we are pushing back against a culture of apathy and consumerism, and God is calling people into lives of faith and obedience. We are seeing life change from the inside out.”
Arrows has also started men’s and women’s groups to help people grow in their faith. Many of these people are new to the faith.
Gospel Life Church in Wichita, KS (Chase Hill)
Gospel Life has seen at least one new guest per Sunday since September! They’ve added four new households to their church since the beginning of the summer.
Upcoming Community events to pray for-- growing connections after Halloween (last year, they connected with over 100 Families from their community); Hope adoption party in December (over 200 foster families from the county attended the previous year); & their first-ever Christmas Eve-Eve service. Please pray for opportunities & follow-up.
At their first-ever Christmas Eve-Eve service, Gospel Life plans to celebrate baptisms! They have two confirmed, and two more are in the pipeline.
God is doing great things among our church plants in the Heartland. If you know these churches, feel free to reach out and encourage them. Please join me in praising God for His goodness to us!
